Built to the sample you approve.

Upholstered furniture built for daily use under your brand, in our factory in Carson, Los Angeles County.

The specification

Quality isn't only a final check. It starts in the specification.

What we build for you goes home with your customers and gets used every day under your brand. That's why frame species and joinery, the seat deck, foam density, seam allowance and base attachment are decided before the sample is built.

How each piece is built

Six stations, from frame to freight.

  1. Webbing being pulled tight across a bare wooden chair frame
    01

    Frame shop

Frames are cut and joined in our own frame shop, on a wood or metal base chosen in the specification.

  2. An upholsterer stapling black webbing across the springs under a seat frame
    02

    Spring & suspension

Seat decks are built for the intended use, so a sofa for daily use is sprung differently from an accent chair.

  3. Paper patterns hanging on racks beside rolls of foam
    03

    Foam & fill

Foam density is written into the specification as a number, and reorders are built to the same specification. The foams and fills we use meet California TB 117-2013.

  4. An industrial sewing machine with cones of thread beside it
    04

    Cut & sew

Leather and tufted upholstery are patterned and sewn in-house, in the fabric or leather you name in your brief.

  5. The spray booth in the finishing department, with frames waiting beside it
    05

    Finishing

Our finishing department works in birch, cherry, maple, oak, walnut and alder, plus painted and artisanal finishes, to a color or texture sample you send for approval.

    Sample check & shipping

Pieces are checked against the approved sample, then wrapped or cartoned for consolidated freight.

You sign off the sample, and the production run is checked against it.

Wood and leather vary naturally, so your program agreement sets out the tolerances and what happens if a piece doesn't match.

Documentation

List the documentation you need in your program brief.

Flammability and material documentation depend on your specification and where the pieces will be sold.

Say in the brief what documentation your specification requires, and we'll confirm what we can provide for that program.
